What's Missing?
The movie The Secret introduced millions to the
Law of Attraction. It taught us how we could use the Law to open up
a whole new world of happiness and abundance. It was inspiring,
exciting and captivating. It was also incomplete.
The principles surrounding the Law
have been taught by all major religions and philosophies through out
history. And although none of these sources ever call it the Law of
Attraction the underlying principle is still there. For example, the
idea that by helping others we inevitably improve ourselves is based
upon the underlying principles of the Law of Attraction.
And why do I say these teachings
are based upon the Law instead of the other way around? Because I
believe the Law is one of the foundational principles the creator
used to build our universe. The Law was here before we
were.
The Law of Attraction is one of
many spiritual laws that govern the way we interact with the
universe, and each other. God created us in his image and he
manifested the physical world from the spiritual realm. We in turn,
because we are created in his image, have the same creativity within
us. And so we create our reality from the spiritual realm using the
spiritual laws God put at our disposal.
You see example after example in
the bible of these spiritual laws:
-
"Then Peter came to Jesus and
asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive someone who sins
against me? Up to seven times?" Jesus answered, "I tell you,
not seven times, but seventy-seven times." (Law of
Forgiveness)
-
"For this is the love of God,
that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not
grievous." (Law of Obedience)
-
"Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it
you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall
receive, that your joy may be full." (Law of
Attraction)
And there are many other examples.
This is what The Secret didn't
cover. There are a handful of laws that work together to give us
happiness and abundance. The Law of Attraction works synergistically
with the other laws. By themselves they have limited use. But use
them all in your life at the same time and you open up the
floodgates of abundance.
